1 pound ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of potato soup
1 soup can water
2 cups grated Cheddar cheese, divided
1 (16-ounce) bag frozen Tater Tots
In a large skillet, brown ground beef; drain. Stir in salt and pepper, onion soup mix, cream of potato soup and water. Mix well and continue to cook over low heat about 15-20 minutes, or until mixture thickens. In a greased 9- x 13-inch casserole dish, layer half of the meat mixture; top with 1 cup of the cheese. Spread remaining meat mixture over cheese and top with another 1/2 cup cheese. Arrange Tater Tots over casserole; top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Makes 8-10 servings.
