Ingredients

1 stick margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup oil

Preparation

Cream margarine and sugar together with electric mixer. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Add flour, baking powder and oil. Work with hands until dough no longer sticks to bowl or hands. Drop dough by walnut-size pieces onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten cookies with glass dipped in water. Bake at 325 degrees for 8-10 minutes, only until lightly browned around the edges. Remove immediately from baking sheets to cool. Store in an airtight container. Makes 2-3 dozen.
