COUNTRY-FRIED CUBE STEAK

Ingredients

10-12 cube steaks
Cavender’s Greek Seasoning
6-8 tablespoons margarine
1 cup water

Preparation

Sprinkle steaks generously on both sides with Greek seasoning. Over high heat, melt 2 tablespoons margarine in a skillet. Add as many pieces of steak as will fit; brown quickly on both sides and remove. Repeat with remaining meat, adding margarine as needed. Remove steaks. Add just enough water to skillet to make bubbly, scraping skillet well. Add remaining water; bring to a boil. Return steaks to skillet. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 30 minutes, or until meat is tender. Serve over rice. Makes 8-10 servings. —Cheryl Watts, Dallas County
