SLOW-COOKER CAJUN CABBAGE

Ingredients

1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
3/4 pound ground chuck
1 onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 small head cabbage, shredded
1/2 (10-ounce) can tomatoes and green chilies
1 (14-ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

In a skillet, brown sausage, beef, onion and garlic; drain. Place cabbage in slow cooker; add meats, tomatoes with green chilies, stewed tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper, stirring to blend. Cover and cook on low heat 8 hours, sprinkling cheese on top in the last hour of cooking. Makes 8-10 servings.
