Ingredients
1 (3/4-inch-thick) ham slice
2 tart apples, peeled and sliced or cut into rings
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup water
Preparation
Slash edges of ham to prevent curling. In a skillet, brown ham slightly on both sides over low to medium heat. Place apples over ham. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Pour water in pan. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, adding more water if necessary. Makes 4-6 servings.
