Hush Puppies

Ingredients

3 cups self-rising corn meal
3 cups self-rising flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 -2 cups chopped onion
3 eggs
Milk

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together. Mix in onions. Add eggs and just enough milk to moisten to a stiff batter. Carefully drop batter by tablespoonfuls into oil heated to 350 degrees. Cook until golden brown. Drain well on paper towels. Yields about 4 dozen.
