Seven Qualify For House District 74 Special Election
Six Republicans and one Democrat qualified for the special election to fill the House of Representatives District 74 seat left open by the passing of Rep. Dimitri Polizos, R-Montgomery.
Republicans vying for the office are Michael Fritz, Tobias Grant, Jesse Caleb Heifner, Jay King, Charlotte Meadows and Daniel Sparkman. Rayford Mack is the lone Democrat candidate.
Gov. Kay Ivey set the special primary election for June 11, with the runoff to be held Aug. 27. If no runoff is needed, the general election will be held Aug. 27. Otherwise, the general election will be Nov. 12.
