Two Confirmed To Alabama Forestry Commission

The Alabama Senate this week confirmed Gov. Kay Ivey’s appointments of Jane Russell of Montgomery County and Robert Sharp of Mobile County to the Alabama Forestry Commission.

Russell, a former president of the Montgomery County Farmers Federation, was reappointed to represent timberland owners. Sharp, a new appointment, will represent foresters. Their terms expire Nov. 5, 2023.

Established as a state agency in 1924, the Alabama Forestry Commission is charged with protecting state forests, helping landowners carry out responsible forest management practices and educating the public about the value of forests to a healthy economy and environment.
