OLD-FASHIONED CHOCOLATE FROSTING
Ingredients
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 1/2 sticks margarine
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup (4 tablespoons) cocoa
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Heat to a rolling boil, then reduce heat to medium and boil for 1 minute, stirring occasionally, until mixture forms a firm but soft ball when dropped in cold water. Place saucepan in a sink of cool water, stirring constantly until frosting is of spreading consistency.
