Ingredients

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup packed brown sugar, divided
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups canned mixed nuts, chopped
1 (8-ounce) container candied red cherries, chopped AND 1 (8-ounce) container candied green cherries, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet or milk chocolate morsels

Preparation

Combine flour, 1/3 cup brown sugar and butter, blending well. Press into a 9- x 13-inch pan; bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Combine egg, salt and remaining 1/3 cup brown sugar. Stir in nuts, cherries and chocolate chips. Spoon carefully over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool and cut into bars. Makes 24 bars.
