Recipes Recipe List: “January 1, TACO RING





1/2 pound ground beef, cooked and drained
1 (1.25-ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons water
2 (8-count) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
1 medium green bell pepper
1/2 head lettuce, shredded
1 medium tomato, cubed
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup whole black olives, sliced
1 cup prepared salsa
Sour cream


In a 2-quart bowl, combine cooked ground beef, taco seasoning, cheese and water, mixing well; set aside. Separate crescent roll dough. On a 13-inch round baking stone or pizza pan, arrange crescent triangles in a circle, with bases overlapping in center and points to the outside leaving an empty 5-inch circle in center. Spoon meat mixture over crescent dough. Bring points of triangles over the filling and tuck under the base at center. Filling will not be completely covered. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until dough is golden brown. Slice the top off the bell pepper; remove seeds. Place in center of baked ring and fill pepper with salsa. Mound lettuce, onion, tomato and olives around pepper. Garnish with sour cream. Serve as appetizer or party food.
