PEPPERONI BREAD – For The Bread Machine
Ingredients
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water, at room temperature
1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2/3 cup sliced pepperoni
Preparation
Pour water into bread machine pan. Place the cheese, sugar, garlic salt, oregano, flour and yeast in pan in order suggested by manufacturer. Bake according to bread machine directions, checking dough after 5 minutes of mixing, and adding 1-2 tablespoons flour or water if needed. When the bread machine signals the time to add additional ingredients (just before the final kneading), add the pepperoni. (Use of the delayed baking cycle is not recommended for this bread.) Makes 1 1-1/ 2-pound loaf.
