REESE’S CAKE
REESE’S CAKE
Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 cup margarine
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup cocoa
6 tablespoons buttermilk
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 (8-ounce) jar (1 1/2 cups) crunchy peanut butter
Icing (Recipe follows)
Preparation
Combine flour, sugar and soda in a large mixing bowl and set aside. In a saucepan, combine margarine, eggs, cocoa, buttermilk and water. Heat over low heat, stirring, until margarine melts and mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat and pour over flour mixture, blending well. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into a greased 9-x 13-inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees 25-30 minutes. Let cake cool completely. Spread peanut butter over cooled cake. Top with Icing.
